Casa Roble High School JROTC Visit
At Casa Roble High School JROTC class, recognizing the outstanding cadets that volunteered; presented a check for $365 from tips collected from those that attended our Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser!

JODY BOLLINGER
On December 15th at our General Monthly Meeting, we honored our Jody Bollinger, our Volunteer of the Year, voted by the membership. Jody is a lovely lady, giving in nature, volunteering for every task and accepting the challenge of heading up our Fundraiser Basket and Care Package Chairperson. She spends countless hours designing and making beautiful baskets full of all types of goodies for our various fundraising events. Thank you so much for all your time and energy!
STOCKING STUFFING 2015
Annually, we are fortunate to be able to be a Pick Up Volunteer for the Operation HomeFront and Dollar Tree Toys for the Military. Through this program, we are able to stuff over 400 stockings each year!

Folsom Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony
The Folsom Veterans Day Parade honored our own Jay Wiley as the Grand Marshall this year! With over 3000 participants, the military community in Folsom showed it joy, appreciation and love of our service members.
A ceremony was held at the Folsom City Park, with speakers, military honors were given assisted by the over 90 cadets from Casa Roble High School Junior ROTC program.

On the Assembly floor waiting for things to get underway. The State of California Assembly made a presentation recognizing BSM of A 75 year Anniversary. The large representation of Blue Star Moms Chapters were present; it was a pleasure to meet our sisters from Northern California!Chapter CA27 is in the house! President Robin DeCristofaro, 2nd VP Liz Fox, and Wanda Alteri-Matus, Blue to Gold Liaison represented our Chapter.

Annual Stocking Stuffing Event
Jo Turney, Jody Bollinger and Leslie Wade, again, collected toys from 6 Dollar Tree stores in the area. We collected over 2800 toys! Thank you to the patron of the Dollar Tree Stores in Folsom, Citrus Heights, Cameron Park and Placerville.
We gathered together with ladies from from the National Charity League of El Dorado Hills to sort and stuff 375 stockings. These stockings were gifted to military families and needed families in the local area.

Bill and Jim were honored with a certificate presentation and a delicious dinner on November 20, 2018. Each year, the volunteer of the year is chosen by a vote from the membership. Bill and Jim's have graciously offered the use of their truck and huge trailer to pick up donations, deliver donations, and deliver care packages for the many years. They are always available at a moments notice and continue to say "yes" to any and all our requests! True supporters!

We had a very busy year, accomplished so much that we wanted to get together celebrate the holidays and recognize all the hard work. We invited our significant others and had a wonderful time! We even had a surprise visit by Santa David! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

Our membership voted unanimously to award the Cadets of the Casa Roble High School JROTC Rolling Hills Blue Star Moms 2022-23 Volunteers of the Year. Each year, the membership nominated those individual or organization that have significantly contributed to the success of our Chapter. Jo Turney and Nan Broaddus arranged to meet with the Cadets, where they were all in uniform and looking great for the presentation of the certificate and a RHBSM challenge coin.

Contratulations to the newly installed board of officers for 2023/24 year, Leslie Wade, President, Wanda Alteri Matus, 1st Vice President, Estelle Tansey, 2nd Vice President, Jan Rusk, 3rd Vice President, Kathy Gehlen, Recording Secretary, Nan Broaddus, Treasurer and Jo Turney, Financial Secretary. Our Installing Officer was Pam Woodward, our Founding President. We look forward to a year full of great events and supporting our military community.
At the end of each fiscal year, the membership votes on the member who they believe has contributed the most to the success of the Chapter. One that consistently makes themselves available when help is needed and one that is first to say, "Yes! I will help" This year the membership voted Brigit Davis as 2022/23 Volunteer of the Year. She was presented with a Chapter coin by President Leslie Wade for her time, support and dedication to our organization. Congratulations Birgit!

10th Anniversary of our Chapter Celebration
We had a PARTY!!! We received a City of Folsom Proclamation from Supervisor Sue Frost; Kevin Kiley presented California State Assembly Certificates of Recognition to the Chapter as well as key players of the Chapter that have been present almost from its conception.
The charcuterie boxes pictured at our party were created by Presidents Jan Rusk's dear friend Vicky Castenada.
Kindness time 10! Tulip's Presentation-March 22, 2017
Shane and Andrea Jackson planted, nurtured and donated tulip & daffodils to the Blue Star Moms and presented over 25 potted and decorated plants at our March meeting. The Jackson's took over this tradition after the passing of Bob Dent, who, for the past 4 years grew and donated potted plants to us. What wonderful acts of kindness.

Memorial Day Ceremony at Lakeside Cemetary
Wounded Veteran Run - May 29, 2017
Who says you can be in two places at one time!
Heather Leigh Robinson was honored to carry our Blue Star Mothers of America Flag at the Memorial Day Ceremony at the Lakeside Cemetery; and Blue Star Mom, Jo Turney lead the serving at the Folsom Veterans Hall Luncheon after the ceremony.
The Wounded Veteran Run, headed by member Courtney Hvostal was on the same day at the same time, so thanks to President Robin DeCristofaro and Past President Jan Rusk, we participated at that very important event as well!

HOLIDAY PARTIES
The holidays are especially wonderful for us; we have the opportunity to provide so much for our military families. At the Never Forget Our Fallen Annual Event, we provided $25 gift cards to 40 military teens. We were able to provide stuffed stockings for 100 children at the receiving home in Sacramento, for families at Travis AFB and families at the California Military Department. We also made sure two military families children had a brighter Christmas because of our support. We love what we do!

Spent the morning at a great cause! Over 800 runners and many more attendees! We were one of 20 vendor booths invited to participate in the day. Thanks to Wanda, Jan, Jo and Martha for volunteering their time!

JoAnn Smith with a delicious dinner on January 17, 2017. Each year, the volunteer of the year is chosen by a vote from the membership. JoAnn's accomplishments with our organization are numerous, however to name a few, she was the Second Sunday Breakfast Kitchen Chairperson for the past 4 years; Sous Chef to Chef Chuck at our Annual Spaghetti Dinner for 3 years running and has attended almost every packing party event!

We had a wonderful first social hour before our general meeting in September. It was very well attended, and everyone enjoyed themselves. We were able to surprise our Volunteer of the Year, thanks to David's wife Liz, it was fantastic!

Wreaths Across America at the
Lakeside Memorial Lawn Cemetery
This year, we became involved with Wreaths Across America. We became a sponsor for WAA and instead of using this a fundraiser, we chose the option of sponsoring 1 free wreath for every 2 that were purchased. Thanks to the community, we sponsored over 75 wreaths that were laid at the Lakeside Memorial Lawn Cemetery on December 17th. Thank you all for sponsoring and volunteering to lay wreaths!!!
